Are your treatments covered by a paying agent?
Your consultations at our clinic may be eligible for partial or full reimbursement from a paying agent depending on your situation, the type of incident, or the location where it occurred. The steps to follow in order to obtain approval from the paying agent vary from one organization to another. At Cigonia, we receive pre-approved files from the following paying agents: IVAC, CNESST, Veterans (Blue Cross), and SAAQ.
Below are the relevant links and the steps to follow if you wish to start care with Cigonia professionals through the coverage provided by the paying agent who has agreed to compensate your situation.
Procedure with IVAC
Are you a victim of a criminal offense and wish to apply for qualification? Visit the IVAC website and use the online service to apply for qualification with IVAC. The information you may need to provide when submitting your application is listed there.
Note that for your appointment at Cigonia to be covered by IVAC, your file must have been approved by IVAC BEFORE scheduling your appointment. Also, did you know that IVAC can cover consultation fees for various expertises? At Cigonia, you can benefit from: physiotherapy, perineal physiotherapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, sexology and osteopathy. All these services can be covered by IVAC, but their approval may vary according to the qualification criteria to be validated with your responsible agent.
Once your file is approved, we will need the following information:
- Your IVAC file number
- The date of the event
- Your medical prescription (from your doctor) with the recommended treatment(s) specified, for example: “PERINEAL PHYSIOTHERAPY”, “MASSAGE THERAPY”, “ACUPUNCTURE”, etc.
- Your health insurance number

Procedure with CNESST
CNESST reimburses medical assistance costs for workers who have suffered a work-related injury, including consultation coverage with certain professionals at Cigonia.
To apply for reimbursement, visit the CNESST website. The information you might need to provide when submitting your application is listed there. The Cigonia team can submit this request on your behalf; however, it may take 1 to 3 weeks for CNESST to grant initial approval. This approval is mandatory, and you must obtain it PRIOR to booking your appointment with us.
Moreover, CNESST can cover consultation fees for various expertises. At Cigonia, you can benefit from: perineal physiotherapy and acupuncture, which are only two services covered by CNESST at our clinic. Their approval may vary according to the qualification criteria to be validated with your responsible agent.
To schedule an appointment with a Cigonia professional for a CNESST claim, you’ll need the following information:
- Your CNESST file number
- The date of the event
- Your medical prescription (from your doctor). It must specify the recommended treatment(s), for example: “PERINEAL PHYSIO”, “ACUPUNCTURE”, etc.
- Your health insurance number

Procedure with SAAQ
A person injured in an automobile accident outside of work hours may be compensated and reimbursed for physiotherapy costs. An injured person has 3 years from the date of the accident to submit a compensation claim to the SAAQ. Visit the SAAQ website for more details and to submit a claim. Note that you must first submit a compensation claim (to obtain a claim number) before making an appointment at one of the Cigonia clinics. Once approved, your file can be retrieved by Cigonia professionals. When scheduling your appointment, make sure to have the following information ready:
- Claim number
- Date of the accident
- Medical prescription (from your doctor) specifiying the recommended treatment (PERINEAL PHYSIOTHERAPY)
- Health insurance number
