Are needles painful?2024-05-15T13:28:02-04:00

Acupuncture needles are very fine and almost painless. Sensitivity varies greatly from person to person, but in general, the insertion of the needle feels like a mosquito bite or a slight pinch, lasting only a fraction of a second. Once the needles are in place, you may experience a slight heaviness, mild numbness, or energy flow throughout your body. Afterwards, you will likely feel a sense of well-being and deep relaxation.

Do I have to undress?2024-05-15T13:43:59-04:00

PHYSIOTHERAPY:

For the evaluation of your pelvic floor, your therapist will ask you to remove your lower body clothing and underwear. A gynecological-type physical examination may be performed. You will always be covered with a sheet or towel for your privacy.

OSTEOPATHY:

It is recommended to wear comfortable sportswear such as a tank top, shorts, or loose pants that can easily be lifted to the knees, or to remain in underwear. You will always be covered with a sheet or towel for your privacy.

MASSAGE THERAPY and ACUPUNCTURE:

You will be invited to uncover the part of your body that will be addressed by your therapist. You can keep your underwear on, and you will always be covered with a sheet or towel for your privacy.

How many treatments should I expect and at what frequency?2024-05-15T13:46:49-04:00

The number of required treatments depends on several factors, such as the type of issue to be addressed, the severity of the problem, its chronicity, and how regularly you perform exercises between appointments. Generally, 3 to 12 sessions are necessary, but this can vary significantly from person to person. As your condition improves, sessions are gradually spaced out to every two to three weeks or monthly. After the initial meeting, it becomes easier to guide you on the next steps.

Naturally, your therapist will be best equipped to provide recommendations for ongoing treatment based on your specific condition.
